Birth of Christ

4 BC

The Birth of Christ. Traditionally thought of as AD 0, this moment defines how since the 6th century we have come to measure the passage of time – time 'Before Christ' (BC), and time after, 'Anno Domini' (AD, 'In the Year of Our Lord'). Best estimates now put the birth at 4 BC, making us four years ahead of ourselves.
